Tags
Organise and group your devices with static (manual) and smart (rule-based) tags.
Tags
Tags are internal metadata for your organisation, used to classify or group devices. They are never visible to recipients of a share — when you share a device, your tags stay private.
TODO(human): traduire la version FR ci-dessous ; pour l'instant on laisse un placeholder synthétique en anglais.
Two flavours
Static tag
You explicitly attach the tag to one or more devices. There's no automatic inheritance — only the devices you select carry the tag.
To cover "all devices in a zone" without picking them one by one,
use a smart tag with the device.location.path descendant_of <zone>
clause instead — it's more expressive and the membership follows
device moves automatically.
Smart tag
The tag is defined by a selection rule. Membership is recomputed automatically whenever the rule changes, and once per day when a share depends on it.
Examples:
- All water meters whose name starts with "WM-A".
- Meters consuming more than 30,000 L over the last 30 days.
- Devices placed in the
saur_stbarth.lorientzone or its sub-zones.
Manage tags
Go to Settings → Tags in your organisation.
Create, edit, assign, snapshot — see the French version for the full walk-through; the surface is identical, only the labels differ.
Sharing
You can share all devices currently covered by a tag in one go. Pick the tag as a resource in the share wizard.
- Static tags: derived grants are maintained live by trigger. Add/remove a device from the tag and the recipient's access updates immediately.
- Smart tags: derived grants refresh once per day via pg_cron around 03:37 UTC. Snapshot to static first if you need to pin a specific membership set.
Tags never cross the tenant boundary. Recipients see no chips, labels, or colours — only the devices themselves. Public links and email invitations are disabled for tag-scope resources.
